MY STORY
Father, Brother, Friend, and Son.
My name is Reginald Deshawn Walker, friends and family call me Reggie or Fat Boi or Dean. I have a story to tell, but before that, please allow me to introduce myself. I grew up in Detroit, mainly the westside, but really all over. As a kid, my family and I moved often. Being familiar with poverty means experiencing evictions, bouncing between the homes of friends and relatives, sleeping on couches, and enduring the painful separation from my siblings. Yes, we knew what it meant to be poor.

From a young age, I sought ways to contribute to our financial struggles. Whether it meant helping people carry their groceries for any amount of money, restocking the coolers at the local corner store, or pumping gas at the neighborhood gas station, I was determined to make a difference. And after a day's worth of work, I would put the money towards whatever our household needed most.
Now, I must admit that I am far from the ideal success story of a kid who made it without engaging in any criminal activities. I have made regrettable choices involving drugs, and I carry the weight of my past actions. However, it is crucial to recognize that I am not defined solely by my past. Every step I took, every corner I turned, my sole motivation was to create a better life for my family.
In the latter part of 2007 and the beginning of 2008, I embarked on a journey to establish a party promotion and entertainment company. Through this venture, I organized and hosted parties while also intending to promote local talent, including my own.

Unfortunately, it was during this time that I found myself entangled on the wrong side of a police detective named Steven Schwein. The consequence of this encounter is my current situation: serving a daunting sentence of 24 to 40 years in the Michigan Department of Corrections for the possession of 52 grams of cocaine. It is this story, that I implore you to hear, a narrative revealing a broken justice system, instances of police and prosecutorial misconduct, biased judges with preconceived notions about people, and the profound injustice that permeates our society. Should you desire to delve deeper into the intricacies of my life, I am more than willing to share my experiences with you.
